I am going to talk about convenience stores and vending machines in three points: the appearance, the service, and the goods variety.

For example, 7-11 and FamilyMart are famous convenience stores in Taiwan. They change their appearance when big festival days come. On the other hand, vending machines are just sale machines. They don’t have a lot of changes on their appearance and any decorations.

Second, convenience stores have better service than vending machines, if you get lemon goods from vending machine, you can’t ask a refund, but you can do it at convenience store. Supposing you buy food that is overdue in convenience stores, you can ask clerks to change another one. In addition, convenience stores provide a lot of service, such as microwaving food, copying, sending parcels, faxing, and purchasing food in advance. The clerks always politely ask,” May I help you?” Unlike convenience stores, which offered genial service, vending machines are very impersonal. They always do standoff by his customers. Vending machines sometimes defraud of money.

Finally, the vending machines only have one kind of goods, while there are many different sorts of goods in convenient stores. Maybe you need newspaper, tissues, water, food and anything else in the morning, you can get them in convenient stores. You find that there are no beverages at party, you can buy them there immediately. Convenient stores display thousands of products which you can choose as you need. However, there are not much goods in a vending machine, if you need much more, you have to pass through the street and the alley to find more vending machines.

The convenience became an important element in our life, so the number of convenience stores is still increasing. We can see a convenience store only ten footsteps away.
